In the Shanghai Petrochemical 24,000 m³/d advanced wastewater treatment and reuse project, which was completed and put into operation at the beginning of this year, Shanghai Petrochemical Group and industry experts have conducted effluent testing, confirming that the project’s treated effluent meets both GB 18918-2002 “Pollutant Discharge Standard for Urban Sewage Treatment Plants,” Grade 1A, and the 2007 QSH 0104 “Water-Saving and Emission-Reduction Assessment Indicators and Reclaimed Water Quality Control” requirements for refining and chemical enterprises. The project’s wastewater is sourced from oily effluent generated by the refinery and from the plant’s southern wastewater stream. Construction commenced in July 2014, with commissioning and start-up completed in January 2015. Following nearly a year of normal operation, the equipment has been running smoothly and stably, with all performance indicators meeting or exceeding the design specifications and contractual requirements. The project’s acceptance inspection once again validated the soundness and rationality of the “A/O+MBR” treatment process design. Moreover, the system’s energy efficiency and operational stability provide a robust foundation for further expanding the market for petrochemical wastewater treatment technologies.
